Lead Integration scheduler is accountable for implementation and architectural development of the integrated schedule of planned work for the facility at strategic, tactical and operational levels, ensuring all work across a facility is delivered to time and quality standards. Responsible for coaching and mentoring the schedulers within the team with oversight of the schedule, the role requires a confident person with experience of delivering work across complex facilities as they will be responsible for dealing with multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels to resolve scheduling conflicts. Overall supervision and management of the schedulers will remain with the Integration Manager.
This is a site based role within the facility.
Role Responsibility
Main Responsibilities for Integration Lead Scheduler:
- Responsible to the Integration Manager and supporting the Facility Work Integration Leads in developing schedules for the facility.
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure understanding of programme requirements and dependencies. (eg plant operations and maintenance teams to support and direct the implementation of the work schedule).
- Responsible for engaging with Project Management community for supervisory oversight to ensure the quality, function and process proposed of project planned activities in the integrated planning process.
- Responsible for identifying schedule conflicts, movement in schedule and escalation to the Facility Integration Managers and Team.
- Taking action to resolve issues / conflicts that may present barriers to achieving established milestones.
- Lead, implement and structure improvements across the business relating to Integrated Planning and Outage Management.
- Responsible for providing scheduling analysis, reporting on diversity, performance, and risk to the Integration Lead / Manager, Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager and Technical Support Manager.
- Quality assurance reporting to Lead Team.
- Lead the continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of the Planning Team in respect of resource loading.
- Provision of mentoring and coaching to planner resources within the team.
- Responsible for identifying areas in development of planner skills and abilities feeding into departmental succession plan.
- Establishing measures for reporting of variances and performance, highlighting any risks and opportunities to Integration Manager and Head Of Facility to be shared at Internal and External Stakeholder forums and Board Level.
- Responsible for oversight of planning team and where appropriate provide solutions or scenarios relating to project challenges.
- Responsible for identifying areas in development of planner skills and abilities feeding into departmental succession plan.
- Development and architecture implementation of new schedules of planned work across the facility focused on the continuous improvement and modification of user interfaces.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Criteria for Integration Lead Scheduler:
- Experience and understanding of Integrated Planning and Outage Management.
- Experience of working with Planning Software (Primavera P6 / MSP).
- Experience of dealing with stakeholders at all levels to resolve conflict.
- Experience of identification of risks.
- Evidence of problem-solving skills at an operational level.
- Ability to understand business needs and their influence on programme delivery.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Packages (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Capable of working without supervision to ensure correct decision making.
- Drive, determination, confidence, enthusiasm and a willingness to propose alternatives to established approaches.
- Ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritize, implement new ways of working whilst doing so effectively under pressure.
- Customer centricity – strong customer focus both internal and external.
- Strong team working, able to work with various internal teams to achieve objectives.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, willing to proactively make suggestions on potential developments.
- Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).
